Case Study - Harrow
Commercial Change of Use & First Floor Extension
ABEngineers provided planning and structural design services for a commercial redevelopment project in Harrow.

The development involved the change of use of the ground floor and part of the first floor from a gymnasium to a bar, restaurant and lounge. The scheme also included a first floor rear extension, installation of an extract ventilation system, relocation of the first floor maisonette entrance to the front elevation and various external alterations.

Our involvement included the preparation of planning drawings and supporting information to assist with the planning application process, together with the structural design and engineering calculations required to facilitate the proposed alterations and extension works.

The structural engineering package included the design of load-bearing elements, steel beam calculations and preparation of structural information to support the Building Regulations approval process.

By providing both planning and structural design services, ABEngineers delivered a coordinated design solution that helped streamline the project from concept through to technical design.
